Recently, I had the honor of photographing baby Yusuf and his incredible family. From the moment they walked into the studio, their warmth and joy were undeniable. Yusuf is the youngest of three boys, and his big brothers were beyond excited to welcome him into their lives. Their sweet interactions and gentle touches showed just how much love already surrounds this little one.
Yusuf was an absolute dream to photograph, with his full head of dark hair and peaceful expressions. We captured a mix of timeless and creative setups, from cozy neutral tones to a whimsical image featuring an adorable baby elephant.
Traveling from Atlanta to Macon for their newborn session is something I don’t take lightly—it was truly an honor to capture these memories for them. I know these images will be cherished for years to come!
If you are expecting, please fill out this form and I will get back to you as soon as possible with information on how to book your own newborn session.

I do love that his parents chose one of the grumpy faces as one of their selections!
And speaking of Caleb—oh my goodness, this gorgeous, chunky baby completely stole my heart! He was an absolute dream to photograph, and I couldn’t get enough of his squishy little cheeks. One of the most special parts of this session was recreating a favorite newborn portrait that I had taken during Ezra’s own newborn session. It was such a full-circle moment.
We also took some adorable prop shots with Caleb, including a super cute space themed composite shot to match his nursery.
One of the greatest honors in my work is when families return to me with their newest additions, trusting me once again to document these once-in-a-lifetime memories. It means the world to me to be part of their journey, capturing images they’ll cherish forever.

You’ll still get beautifully lit portraits of your baby, but without having to leave the comfort of your home. It’s relaxed, intimate, and full of real moments you’ll cherish forever.
I had the pleasure of working with this sweet family again for their new baby's session. I had photographed them during their pregnancy with big sister, and for her newborn and first birthday portraits. Its such an honor to be invited back again and again and I loved seeing the portraits I had taken from past sessions on their walls!
]]>
He also woke up brielfy during the session, allowing me to capture those beautiful eyes.
One of the sweetest surprises during the session was the way he smiled in his sleep. It’s always a treat when newborns give those adorable little grins, and this baby boy gave plenty. Each time he smiled, it felt like a little glimpse into his happy dreams, making for the most heartwarming images.
His parents also brought in a special football outfit, and it was such a fun addition to the session. While I have everything we need for the session at my the studio, I am happy to incorporate personal elements into a newborn photos, making them even more special and unique.
If you’re expecting, now is the perfect time to book your newborn session. The newborn stage is so brief, and capturing these moments ensures you’ll have memories to look back on for a lifetime. From the moment this family walked into the studio, I could feel the excitement and love they share. Big sister was absolutely smitten with her baby sister, gently holding and gazing at her with so much admiration. These sibling moments are some of my favorites to capture because they show a bond that will last a lifetime.
Mom and Dad were glowing with happiness, cherishing every tiny movement and expression. We captured beautiful family portraits, highlighting their love and connection. These images will be treasures for years to come, reminding them of these early, fleeting days.
Newborn sessions are all about capturing those tiny fingers, soft cheeks, and delicate features before they change too quickly. We used classic pink colors plus soft, neutral tones and delicate accessories to create a timeless feel.
The parents also brought in some sentimental items for their portrait session. This is not required - the studio has everything we need for the session - but I'm happy to include a couple of items if you would like to personalize your newborn session. This family brought in a couple of handmade quilts, one from mom's childhood and one handmade just for Dakota. They also brought in mom's college basketball jersey and dad's college baseball mitt to honor that important part of their lives.
The newborn stage is incredibly short, and these early moments are ones you’ll want to remember forever. The best time to schedule your newborn session is within the first two weeks of life when babies are still in that sweet, sleepy phase, making it easier to capture those curled-up, cozy poses.
If you’re expecting, now is the perfect time to book! Let’s create a beautiful session that captures your growing family’s love. Send me a message or visit my website to reserve your spot—I can’t wait to help you document these once-in-a-lifetime moments!

Newborn photography is often associated with those first few weeks of life—typically between 7 and 14 days old. During this time, babies are extra sleepy, curly, and easier to pose, which is why most photographers recommend scheduling sessions early. But what happens if you miss that window?
Life is unpredictable, and sometimes parents aren’t able to book a newborn session right away. Whether it’s due to recovery, adjusting to life with a newborn, or simply time slipping away, many parents worry that they’ve missed their chance for those sweet, sleepy newborn portraits.
But here’s the good news: it’s never too late to capture beautiful images of your baby.
At 6 weeks, babies are often more alert and aware of their surroundings, which means we can capture beautiful eye contact and maybe even some sweet little smiles. While they may not be quite as curly and sleepy as a brand-new newborn, they are still small, squishy, and absolutely perfect for timeless portraits.
If you’ve been holding off on scheduling a newborn session because you think it’s too late, I want you to know that there is still time. Whether your baby was just born, or already a few weeks old, we can create beautiful portraits that capture this fleeting stage of life.

There’s something truly magical about photographing newborn twins. Each session brings its own unique charm, and this one was no exception. Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing memories for a sweet baby boy and girl, and I couldn’t wait to share some highlights from their photoshoot.
The twins came to my studio at just three weeks old. While I recommend planning ahead and booking during your pregnancy, I always try my very best to create space in my schedule for everyone who contacts me. Their parents booked the session after the babies were born, and I’m so glad we were able to fit them in!
We started the session with family poses, creating timeless memories for their proud parents. Even though I know newborn parents are running on very little sleep, I highly recommend getting in the photos with your babies. These family portraits are such an important part of any newborn session because they beautifully document those fleeting early days of togetherness.
This family requested a shot of daddy holding both newborns in his arms, which I think we captured beautifully and safely, with my assistant standing by right outside the frame to help if needed. I also made sure to capture each parent holding each baby individually.
From there, we moved on to focus on the twins themselves. One of my favorite moments was capturing them snuggled up together. There’s an indescribable bond between twins that’s simply heartwarming to witness, and I’m thrilled we were able to freeze those moments in time. Seeing them tucked closely together—the little boy’s tiny hand brushing against his sister—was enough to make anyone melt.
We also made sure to take individual portraits of each twin. The classic neutral tones we used created an elegant and timeless look, while the pops of pink for the baby girl and blue for the baby boy added a sweet and classic touch. These soft, simple colors are a favorite of mine because they let the babies’ natural beauty shine.
It’s always an honor to be trusted with capturing such a special time in a family’s life, and this session was no exception. These little ones won’t stay this tiny for long, but now their family has beautiful images to cherish for years to come.
If you’re thinking about booking a newborn session, whether you’re expecting or have already welcomed your baby (or babies!) into the world, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to help you create memories of these precious early days.

This session was so emotional. We laughed, we cried, and we made some beautiful photos for her to have forever.

Connor was so patient, polite and sweet during his session. Connor played baseball and ran cross country in high school. So we made sure to take some portraits on the baseball field at the school. Connor had saved all of his running numbers from his cross country meets, so we captured a cool image of him throwing them all in the air. We also made sure to take a portrait of Connor with the running shoes and headband he used for cross country.
I'm honored I was able to help capture a few more happy memories of this amazing kid at his beloved school!

]]>We kept Bryce's studio portraits in neutral tones, which is timeless and will match their home decor beautifully.
One special portrait that Bryce's mommy had to have was a simple black and white of Bryce in her Daddy's hands. This one will go on the wall next to similar images of her big sisters and brother.
I loved capturing this family in their home, it was a lot easier than bringing the young siblings to the studio, and they were able relax and have fun.
I also photographed Liam in a number of cute props, but tried to continue with the simple cream color scheme for a cohesive look to his gallery.
I also photographed Liam with a gray set up, which was a color his parent's requested as well.
Liam's parents brought in this cute moses basket for some of his portraits. I love how it gave a sweet natural, lifestyle look.
They also brought in his coming home outfit for some portraits. He looks so cute and snuggly in it!
I also love capturing newborn with their parents! These are probably going to be the most important photos for Liam to have when he grows up. I'm sure he will want to look back and see how much he was loved!
Liam's parents booked a maternity/newborn package and were able to save money by bundling their portrait package. You can see some photos of their maternity session in my blog post here.

Little Connor has a big blended family, and I am so happy we were able to get everyone into the studio and take lots of family shots. I sometimes tell parents that these photos are no only for you, they are also for your little one! One day Connor will be able to look back on these and see how loved and doted on he was from the very beginning of his life.
Connor's daddy and big brother love baseball, so we were able to take some special sports themed photos of him. I love this next photo, it feel like he is dreaming about his first t-ball game!
Bentley's family are big UGA fans, so I photographed him with this cute little bulldog lovie.
And speaking of lovies, Bentley's grandmother loved the images of babies holding the little bears and other animals in my portfolio. So I incorporated them into a lot of his portraits.
I I also incorporated a little red heart since Bentley's birthday fell very close to Valentine's Day.
II was also able to incorporate and hunting and forest animal theme in some of the images, using some antlers his mom brought to the studio and also a little knitted fox bonnet set they picked out from my collection.
I shoot with a variety of lenses at my sessions in order to get different looks without disturbing baby. I had my close up lens on and Ivy made the cutest little grumpy face. I was so sleep deprived when my kids were newborns that I can't even remember the faces they made in their sleep. I'm so glad I can capture these little details for my clients!
And finally, here is a comparison of big brother Macklan in 2017 in a similar pose. I think her birth weight was about 1 lb more than his and you can really tell what a difference it makes in how they look!
Feel free to contact me anytime to schedule a session for beautiful, timeless portraits or your child!

Just like her big sister two years ago, Irisa did not want to go to sleep for her portraits! I like to a get a few awake shots if possible, but I mostly like babies to be in a deep sleep for their portraits so they are relaxed and I can gently pose them into cute squishy poses. Awake newborns have a hard time making eye contact and are pretty squirmy, so that is why most newborn photographers prefer sleepy babies for their newborn session!
We did get a few adorable and funny awake images of Irisa, but I eventually won and she drifted off, allowing me to get the peaceful sleepy poses that I love to capture.

Then we headed out to the farm for more beautiful portraits of the expecting couple and their cute dog.

First, here is the front of our holiday card, thanks to my talented friend Susan at Susan Edge Photography.
Here are my boys lighting the Hannukah candles. My little one was so excited and proud to light his own menorah this year!
We loved driving around and looking at the beautiful Christmas lights everywhere. Here is one shot from when we went to see the Tripp's Family Christmas lights in Cochran.
Here are my boys playing the Dreidle game.
And building a gingerbread house.
Visiting with Santa.
And just being goofy.
And Christmas morning.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my little business this year. I have really been blessed to meet some wonderful people through photography and I am having a blast.
Wishing you love and light in 2015!!!
I loved getting to know Carson's sweet parents and photographing his newborn portraits. The family also ordered lots of professional prints and canvases so I know they now have beautiful portraits of their sweet baby gracing their walls!

In order to help you get more of your portraits off of your computer and onto your walls, I am now offering an exciting new service to my customers. After your portrait session (or even before your session if you would like!) I can come to your home and take pictures of the walls where you would like to hang your portraits from your session. Then I have software I can use to show you what your portraits will look like on your own walls! We can try different images from your session and different sizes, until we find the images and the size that looks best.
One recent client knew she wanted a big canvas of her children hanging above her fireplace. There were two images from her session that she loved. She couldn't decide which one to print big, or what size canvas to order. So I took pictures of the space and helped her decide which size would look best.
Here are the two images as 20x30 canvas.
And here they are as 24x36 canvas.
After some discussion my client decided on a canvas and I placed her order! We did a little tweaking to the image to make it perfect, and then I ordered a BIG 24x36 canvas.
A couple of weeks later the canvas arrived. I hand delivered the canvas and even hung it up!
I'm sorry this bad Ipad photo does not do the canvas justice at all, but here is the actual canvas hanging in her living room! It looks beautiful and is the perfect color and size for the space. My client is in LOVE.
I brought my portable studio studio to their home so we could capture some classic portraits of their baby in her beautiful baptism gown. It was handmade by her grandmother and just gorgeous!
Then we ventured outside for some fun family shots outside their cute home.

Micah also loves jumping on our neighbor's trampoline. I had a more perfect shot of my son Jacob jumping that I was going to use for the I Heart Faces challenge this month. Jacob is older and takes direction better and I could predict his movements better. Micah jumped so high here that he didn't quite stay in the frame. That is ok. I'm trying to remember that letting go of perfections can lead to lots of fun. I trying to remember to let the kids get dirty as much as possible. I'm trying to remember to have fun with my camera instead of worried about perfection all the time. I'm trying to write this blog post even though I can never find the correct words for what I'm trying to say!
I love this image even though its messy. I love that he was wearing his heart shirt. I love that his hand covers the "e" in Hope, making it look like his shirt says "Hop". Imperfect. Ironic. I love it.

]]>We started their session in Laura's bedroom. This may not be your typical portrait- Laura started off a little shy and the light was coming through the blinds in the her room creating an interesting shadow. So I decided to go with it and create something dramatic.
Laura did warm up to me by showing me around her room and reading me one of her favorite books.
We then walked out to their backyard and we were able to capture this great family shot right away.
Then we took a break from posing and Laura showed me this adorable play house her parents built for her. What a lucky girl!
Then we brought out a little wooden chair. This is my favorite shot from the session.
Laura changed into her cute birthday girl outfit.
Laura showed me how well she can dance and blow bubbles!
We ended the evening with a few more family shots, and then a beautiful daddy & daughter silhouette.

]]>In a few short weeks she is expecting her third baby and her first little girl! So a couple of great friends went all out to make sure she had a perfectly girly baby shower. It was great fun and I'm so glad I was able to attend and snap a few pictures for the memory books.
I cannot wait to meet baby Ella and shoot her newborn portraits!
I can't believe my friends are SO talented and crafty! All the decorations and many of the gifts were handmade.
The fabric and decor all match Ella's nursery.
The best part was seeing Mollie SO happy!

Here are a few of my images.
While I love photography as a medium for capturing memories, I also love it as a medium for conveying emotions, and just for the simple enjoyment of capturing and sharing beauty and light. I hope I somewhat accomplish this, and I am always striving to learn new techniques and get better at my craft. Here are few I shot this week 'just for me'.

My dad is now doing a little better, and my family and I did end up having some relaxing carefree summer days. And I have found the time to fit my passion for photography back into my life. I am so thankful for that!
Speaking of passions, I think I love playing around in Photoshop as much as I love taking photographs. After I published yesterday's blog post of Jacob's mini session, something seemed not quite right to me about the first photo. It didn't exactly convey the carefree, summer fun feeling I was going for. So I pulled it into Photoshop today and played around. This is what I came up with.
Here is my boy soaking in the last bit of Summer Fun, the evening before starting first grade.

We decided to get together at the bar where they had their first date. It turned out to be a dark and rainy evening, but we just went with it and made it work! I think these shots really capture what a fun couple they are!
A few months ago, I realized how wary my child had become of my camera. So I decided instead of going for that perfect pose, I would just incorporate my camera into our normal play time. The result was not a perfectly composed photograph, but a precious memory of Enjoying Life with my kids.

And with a little coaxing - I got the best birthday present from my beautiful boys- they both looked at the camera and smiled at the same time! I've already sent this one off to be printed big on canvas!
