It is always the biggest honor when families come back to me over and over again. I have had the pleasure of photographing this precious family multiple times since they were pregnant with big sister and I loved getting to meet their newest little love Dakota. There’s nothing more beautiful than welcoming a new baby into the family, and this session was overflowing with love and joy!

From the moment this family walked into the studio, I could feel the excitement and love they share. Big sister was absolutely smitten with her baby sister, gently holding and gazing at her with so much admiration. These sibling moments are some of my favorites to capture because they show a bond that will last a lifetime.

Newborn sessions are all about capturing those tiny fingers, soft cheeks, and delicate features before they change too quickly. We used classic pink colors plus soft, neutral tones and delicate accessories to create a timeless feel.

The parents also brought in some sentimental items for their portrait session. This is not required - the studio has everything we need for the session - but I'm happy to include a couple of items if you would like to personalize your newborn session. This family brought in a couple of handmade quilts, one from mom's childhood and one handmade just for Dakota. They also brought in mom's college basketball jersey and dad's college baseball mitt to honor that important part of their lives.

The newborn stage is incredibly short, and these early moments are ones you’ll want to remember forever. The best time to schedule your newborn session is within the first two weeks of life when babies are still in that sweet, sleepy phase, making it easier to capture those curled-up, cozy poses.
